Our Story

RIX AIRCOOLED was originally founded in the early 2000's by Rick Sumoski, a passionate enthusiast who built the business under the name of Rix914Parts.  From the beginning, Rick's mission was simple yet powerful: to serve the air-cooled Porsche community with dependable, high-quality parts and a level of service that owners could truly rely on.  Over the years, his dedication earned him the trust of countless Porsche drivers and restorers who knew they could count on him for both expertise and integrity.

In mid-2025, Rick passed the torch to Patrick and Tyler Roussey, a father-and-son team who share the same unwavering passion for Porsches and the people who love them. Alongside them, Mark Taylor brings proven product development expertise, ensuring each new part meets the highest standards of quality and authenticity.  Together, they're carrying forward Rick's legacy - doing right by the customer, delivering craftsmanship that reflects pride and precision, and honoring the spirit of the air-cooled Porsche.

Owner

With over 35 years of experience in manufacturing and running a family business, Pat brings a deep passion for quality, design, and community to RIX Aircooled. His journey into Porsche ownership began in 2011, but it was the sound and character of air-cooled 911s that truly hooked him and led to his first air-cooled Porsche in 2013. That experience revealed a growing need for high-quality parts - sparking the foundation for RIX Aircooled.  With a background in plastic injection mold building and product development, Pat focuses on designing components that meet or exceed original fit and function, always with quality and value in mind.  For him, the most rewarding part of the business is building it alongside family and friends while supporting a Porsche community defined by passion, craftsmanship, and keeping these iconic cars on the road.

Mark Taylor

Product Development / Co-owner

Mark's Porsche journey began in his twenties and has evolved into a lifelong obsession with the marque.  With over 48 years of ownership, competition, concours judging, and restoration experience, his commitment to Porsche craftsmanship runs deep. His appreciation for old-world techniques - like those used to hand-build the earliest 356s - continues to shape his approach today. Before joining RIX Aircooled, Mark led product development at Stoddard NLA, the premier Porsche restoration parts company once owned by the Porsche family, where he helped create components now part of the official Porsche Classic line. At RIX Aircooled, he continues that same mission: delivering authentic, high-quality parts that honor the Porsche legacy.

Tyler Roussey

Sales and Marketing / Co-owner

Tyler's passion for Porsche began early, inspired by his dad's 1997 Boxter and cemented when he bought his first car - a 1987 944 with a blown transmission. After rebuilding it with his dad in their garage, a lifelong love for the brand was born. With a degree in Supply Chain Management and International Business, Tyler went on to manage operations at Mayer Tool & Engineering, where he developed a strong foundation in machining, manufacturing, and project management. At RIX Aircooled, he focuses on brand development, marketing, and customer relationships, driven by precision and a genuine love for getting things just right. For Tyler, RIX Aircooled is more than a business - it's a shared dream with his dad and a way to give back to the Porsche community that inspired it all.
